Greenslip Discounts

No greenslip discounts in NSW

Greenslip prices cannot be discounted.

If a quoted greenslip price is accurately based on your vehicle, your details and all other relevant factors, no further discount is available from that insurer.

Insurers set greenslip prices. Insurers must first submit to State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) the prices they intend to charge. Insurers are not allowed to vary those prices without resubmitting them to SIRA. Insurers are not allowed to further discount those prices. When insurers set prices they consider many factors such as vehicle type, driver age, driving record and claims history.

Eligibility for a pension or other concession is not a factor used by insurers to determine green slip prices. Pensioner discounts are not available on green slips in NSW. Find more about pensioner concessions.

Agents or brokers are not allowed to offer a different price to that available by dealing directly with the insurer. Once an insurer’s price is correctly quoted, no further discount is available based on where or how you purchase that insurer’s CTP green slip.

The price of your CTP green slip cannot be discounted on the basis of product bundling. However, some insurers do offer discounts on other insurance products if your green slip and those other insurance products are held with that insurer.

Read insurer comparisons of any discounts offered by insurers on other products when you hold their greenslips.
