Only 6 insurers are licensed to sell greenslips in NSW. They are AAMI, Allianz, GIO, QBE, NRMA Insurance and Youi. By law, every green slip must offer exactly the same cover. You can compare the cheapest greenslip from all 6 insurers by using the greenslips.com.au Calculator.
Six licensed green slip insurers
Five large insurance groups own the 6 licensed greenslip insurers:

Other ways to choose an insurer
One way to choose a insurer is to see how well it would manage a greenslip claim. greenslips.com.au takes this information from a SIRA quarterly report on insurer performance. The report compares each insurer with the NSW average, for example, how long it takes to process claims, number of complaints, and types of disputes.
Other ways to choose an insurer are to make a comparison of at-fault driver cover, discounts and ease of access for purchase.
