Lynette Webster, Nyngan Can Assist president, says she does not think people in the city understand the stress involved with having to travel so far for treatment.
Travel is one of the biggest costs. It is hard for people in the country who are forced to travel long distances to get treatment. The closest place for cancer treatment is Dubbo, a 4-hour round trip. Sydney is even further. So the greenslips.com.au donation will also go a long way to help them.
New volunteers for Can Assist Nyngan are encouraged to step forward to help with this valuable work.
